Detailed Itinerary :


Day 1 : Delhi & connect to Leh (fly) :

Meet personally at the airport – Meet and Greet and hand over all the travel reports ie: Hotel Vouchers and flight tickets and exchange you to the Domestic air terminal to travel to Leh which lvs at 0840 am/1000 am – upon landing in Leh – Met by our office rep. also, exchange to the lodging. Rest of the day finish bed rest.

Day 2 : Leh - Leh :

Day free in Leh – enjoy the nearby markets and the culture. Overnight in the Hotel. (May be if the children are excited about rafting – we can take them for the rafting at Indus river – later return back to the hotel

Day 3 : Leh - Leh:

Morning: After breakfast drive to Stok via Choklamsar crosses the Indus River. It is situated at a distance of 14 km from Leh and it takes 45 minutes drive. In Stok one can visit the Royal palace of present Queen of Ladakh. In this palace there is a great collection of historical Royal ornaments, Thankas and old Statues. This palace is built in 1835 . After visiting the palace drive back to Choklamsar Tibetan refugee camp. Here one can visit SOS children village and Tibetan Handicraft center. Drive back to Leh, which is 8 km and takes 20 minutes drive. Evening around 4 o’clock visit Sankar monastery by walk. HH Kushok Bakula Ringpoche builds this monastery 1945. This monastery is the branch monastery of Spituk monastery. Presently 40 monks are residing in this monastery. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 4 : Leh - Nubra :

Morning after breakfast, drive to Nubra, 120km from Leh and it takes about 4-5 hrs drive, by crossing Khardung-la (The highest motorable road in the world 5400m). On the way, you have amazing panoramic view of Indus valley, Shayok River, Himalayan Mountains and Karakoram Range. Post Lunch at hotel, drive to Hunder where you enjoy the Double humped bacterian camel riding. After then drive back to Deskit (administrative block of Nubra valley) and visit the monastery and recently built huge statue of Maitreya Buddha (100ft,Future Buddha). The most attractive features of Nubra valley is the sand dune. Explore the Nubra valley "The valley of flowers". Overnight at hotel (3165m).

Day 5 : Nubra - Leh :

(120 kms – 5 hrs) Morning, after breakfast, drive back to Leh along the similar street. Arrive Leh by afternoon. Post Lunch free to explore Leh.

Day 6 : Leh - Pangong Lake :

After early Breakfast leave for Pangong Lake (14,500 ft), through Changla Pass17,350 ft., third highest motorable street in the world. 1200 hrs. Arrive Pangong, highest salt waterLakein the World, shared by two countries India and China. Packed or Hot Lunch will be given. Enjoy the beauty of lake on the Banks of the pangong while appreciating the changing Colors and fascinating high altitude of the Lake. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 7 : Pangong Lake - Leh :

(160 kms – 7 hrs) Lv by the same route - - harsh and tough ride but this is an experience of the life time. Upon arrival check in the hotel and you have the time to see the market.

Day 8 : Leh - Lamayuru & Ule :

After breakfast, drive to Lamayuru enroute visit Liker Monastery and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. Check in Camp at Alchi or Ule and enjoy your hot Lunch. After Lunch drive to visit the mesmerising Moon landscapes and the Lamayuru monastery (Oldest Monastery in Ladakh). Overnight stay at Camp or Hotel.

Day 9 : Lamayuru & Ule - Leh:

(160 kms – 6 hrs) Drive back to Leh and rest of the time left in the evening to see the market.

Day 10 : Leh - Padam :

Morning: After breakfast drive to Hemis monastery which is 45 km far from Leh and it takes 1 ½ drive. . Now in these days 80 monks are residing and HH Khanpo Ringpoche incumbents this monastery. Here one can see the big statue of the Future Buddha. After visiting this monastery drive back to Leh. Overnight at Hotel .

Day 11 : Padam - Zangla (5-6 hrs) :

Visit Karsha Monastery on the way to Zangla(3370 mts) Karsha Monastery is the largest in Zanskar and dates back to the 10th Century A.D.

Day 12 : Zangla - Base Camp (3-4 hrs)

Hard but short walk up from Zangla gets you to the Base Camp for crossing the Charcha La Pass. One may explore the side valley after lunch.

Day 13 : Base Camp - Charcha La (6-7 Hrs) :

There is some hard climbing in the dry valley below before getting to the glacier and the top of the Charcha La (4950 mts). The hard climb is rewarded by great views of Zanskar and the Great Himalayan Range.

Day 14 : Charcha La - Tilat Sumdo (6-7 hrs) :

From the camp at the base of the pass, trek till the Cave at Tilat Sumdo(3750 mts) and camp there. There are many river crossings to be made on this day also.

Day 15 : Tilat Sumdo - Base Camp (5-6 hrs) :

Trek to the Base (4350 mts) of the next pass called Rubrang La (5020 mts). The hard trails in this area are frequented by shepherds from the villages of the Rupshu region.

Day 16 : Base Camp - Rubrang La (6-7 hrs) :

Hard walking to the top of the pass is rewarded again by great panoramic views. The descent from the pass is through a beautiful gorge famous for wild life called Chaglang Nala. Camp at Markha (3850 mts).

Day 17 : Markha - Thinlespa (6-7 hr) :

Easy walking for 6-7 hours gets one to Thinlespa(3700 mts) which a very small and traditional Ladakhi Village. Next day rest/explore around Thinlespa.

Day 18 : Rest / Explore Thinlespa :

A beautiful spring can be reached by a 1 hour walk from Thinlespa. The waters of this spring have medicinal and spiritual powers. The side valleys/gorges around are home to abundant numbers of Blue Sheep, Ibex , Himalayan Wolves and Snow Leopard. There are also many other interesting sites around which can be easily visited.

Day 19 : Thinlespa - Hinlespa - Shigo (7 hrs) :

Trek along the Markha River till the village of Skiu and onwards to Shingo (4150 mts). From Skiu the trail slowly ascends through a wooded gorge till Shingo, where you Camp for the night. Shingo is complete with a traditional Ladakhi house and beautiful flower speckled fields.

Day 20 : Shingo - Ganda La - Yurutse (6-7 hrs)

Leave early morning and trek up the next Pass named the Ganda La (4920 mts). The Ladakh, Zanskar and Stok Ranges are part of the splendid views from the top of the Pass. A short 1 hour descend from the pass gets you to the camp site a few kilometers before Yurutse Village (4150mts). The mountains around are full of wild Sheep and Marmots.

Day 21 : Yurutse - Base of Namlung La (3-4 hrs) :

Trek down the valley till rumbak and then ascend till the base camp of the next pass(4100 mts), Namlung La. From here there is a side trip of 4 days to the peak of Mt Stok Kangri (6130 mts). This is an easy trekking peak though the altitude is above 6000 Mts.

Day 22 : Base of Namlung La - Stok - Leh (5-6 hrs)+(2 hrs drive) :

This is the last trekking day. After crossing the Namlung La (4750mts) trek down till Stok Village where you are picked up by Jeeps and transported to your Hotel in Leh. The Namlung La towers over the Indus/Leh Valley and is a great place for photographs.

Day 23 : Leh - Delhi Airport drop to catch Int. flight :

Fly to Delhi by morning flight – upon arr. I personally will be meeting you at the airplane terminal and introduce you to your driver for the Day trip to Agra – You visit Taj Mahal – the seventh wonder of the world and After visit Agra Fort – the double walled fort popular for its architecture and return back to Delhi
